Biography
Dr Nina Lazarevic is a Research Fellow on the Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Health Study in the Environment, Climate, and Health group, National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. She holds a PhD in environmental epidemiology and biostatistics, and Masters degrees in biostatistics and environmental science. She previously worked as an econometrician in banking and market research. Her research interests include statistical methods in environmental epidemiology, particularly for estimating the health effects of environmental chemical mixtures and exposome-health associations; Bayesian nonparametric statistical methods; and the health effects of prenatal environmental exposures on child development and maternal health. Her current work on the PFAS Health Study focuses on the effects of exposure to PFAS on cardiometabolic, liver, and kidney function markers and conditions, and on psychological distress in people living in PFAS-contaminated areas.
