Biography

I am researching statistical methods for multivariate data that lies in constrained spaces, primarily compositional data. In compositional data each individual has multiple components measured and these components are non-negative and sum to one. Such data occurs in biology from microarrays, geochemical surveys, soil, finance, and more.

I have a background in spatial statistics, mathematics and remote sensing. I am familiar with computer programming and managing large data sets.  My PhD focused on quantitative summaries of spatial maps and I have authored the R package ‘lacunaritycovariance’, which computes a fractal summary statistic from covariance estimates.

My other interests include spatial data, remote sensing, land management, climate change and environmental statistics.
