Biography

Shuvo’s research focuses on understanding complex data using hierarchical Bayesian approach and algorithms. As a ‘data scientist’ by training, Shuvo is a predictive analyst and modeller with experience on using professional statistical tools to solve real-life data problems. He is a competent programmer and has experience in working with large databases. He developed two R packages “spTimer” and "spTDyn" for modelling high dimensional spatio-temporal data.

Shuvo obtained his PhD from University of Southampton (UK) and moved to Australia to join as a researcher at the Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). He then moved to USA and started his Assistant Professorship at Yale University. He again returned to Australia and commenced as a Lecturer at the ANU Centre for Social Research & Methods.
